The Township of Asphodel-Norwood Water & Wastewater Department will be conducting hydrant flushing from October 15 to 31, 2025, as part of the annual fall maintenance program. This work will affect both the Norwood Water System and the Trentview Estates Water System.

Please note that no paper bills will be mailed while the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) strike is ongoing. Residents already enrolled in e-billing will have received their invoice - please check your email. Residents who typically receive their invoice by mail are asked to reach out to the Municipal Office and ensure payment is made before the due date of November 14, 2025 to avoid interest charges.

With the ongoing Canada Post strike, the Township of Asphodel-Norwood reminds residents to keep payments up to date. Residents are encouraged to sign up for e-billing or Pre-Authorized Payments, and vendors are encouraged to register for EFT.

The 2025 Fall Leaf & Yard Collection and Drop-off Program will run throughout October and November, with curbside collection in the Village of Norwood and drop-off options available for rural residents.

The Peterborough County OPP Detachment Board is inviting applications for three (3) Community Appointees under the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019. Applications will be accepted until October 24, 2025.

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood Committee of Adjustment will consider Minor Variance Application A01-2025 at a Public Hearing on October 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. under Section 45 of the Planning Act. Members of the public are invited to attend and share their views.

The Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood will hold a Special Council Meeting on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1:30 PM in the Town Hall for the purpose of reviewing the first draft of the 2026 Budget.

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is considering a zoning by-law amendment to rezone the subject lands from Open Space (OS) to Rural Residential (RR), in order to permit the creation of five (5) new rural residential lots.
