Council will consider adoption of the 2026 Municipal Operating & Capital Budgets, along with the 2026 Water, Sanitary, and Trentview Estates system rates, at its regular meeting on December 9, 2025. Agenda and budget presentation materials will be available the Friday prior to the meeting.

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is currently seeking applications for appointment to the Business Advisory Committee for the term ending November 2026. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on December 14, 2025.

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is considering a zoning by-law amendment to rezone the severed parcels from the Rural (RU) Zone to the Rural Residential (RR) Zone with a Source Water Protection Overlay, in order to create two (2) rural residential lots.

Winter parking restrictions are now in effect under By-law No. 2017-05, as amended, and will remain in place until April 30. Please remember that overnight parking restrictions apply on Peterborough County roads. Under the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 181, it is an offence to deposit snow or ice on a roadway. Please do not shovel or plow snow onto roadways or sidewalks.

Council will consider adopting an updated Procedural By-law on December 9, 2025. The draft by-law, including a proposed change to hold Council meetings in the upper level of Town Hall (Section 4.2), is available for public review.

The Council of the Corporation of Township of Asphodel-Norwood intends to adopt an updated Procedural By-law at its next regularly scheduled meeting on November 10, 2025. The proposed updates were presented to Council on October 21, 2025. Written submissions may be provided by contacting the Clerk on or before 4:30 p.m. on November 5, 2025. 

The Township is inviting residents and attendees to share their feedback on the inaugural Norwood Market, held on long weekend Saturdays throughout the summer from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 42 Victoria Street in the Village of Norwood. The survey will remain open until end of day November 9, 2025.

Please be advised that the municipal parking lot located at 42 Victoria Street will be closed to public parking from Monday, October 20 to Thursday, October 30, 2025, to allow for scheduled maintenance work.
