Canada Day 2026
Start your day at the Norwood Town Hall with a FREE pancake breakfast, hosted by the Township’s Special Events Committee.
Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2026
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Location: Town Hall, 2357 County Road 45, Norwood ON
The morning will include a free pancake breakfast, outdoor entertainment, kid-friendly activities, and door prize draws throughout the event. Please note that attendees must be present to win door prizes.
Outdoor entertainment and children’s activities will be provided by Canmexicanus – Backroad Collective.
The Township extends its appreciation to the generous community partners and local businesses supporting this event, including:
- Quaker Oats for donating pancake mix;
- Linlor Farm for donating maple syrup;
- the Ontario Milk Board for donating milk;
- Maple View Retirement Residence for donating water and glow sticks; and
- members of the Asphodel-Norwood Fire & Rescue Department for volunteering their time.
Special appearances will also be made by Bonnie Clarke, Warden of Peterborough County, and MPP David Piccini.
Food items and glow sticks will be available while supplies last.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to start the day in Asphodel-Norwood and then explore the Canada Day celebrations taking place throughout the surrounding area.
Operational changes
- The Municipal Office, Transfer Station, and Public Library branches will be closed for Canada Day.
- Garbage collection shifts by one day:
- Wednesday's collection moved to Thursday, July 2, 2026
- Thursday's collection moved to Friday, July 3, 2026
- Friday's collection moved to Saturday, July 4, 2026
- Recycling collection will proceed as usual - no changes.
