Did you know that between 30% and 50% of household garbage is made up of organic material? Backyard composting is an easy and effective way to reduce waste and create nutrient-rich soil for your garden.

Residents can purchase:

• Composters for $30.00
• Digesters for $55.00 (with County incentive) or $75.00 (without incentive)

To purchase a composter or digester, please contact the Municipal Office.

Digesters function similarly to composters but are designed to handle a wider range of organic materials, including items that are not typically suitable for traditional composting.

Household Hazardous Waste can contain toxins that are harmful to waste collectors and the environment. Please take proper measures to dispose of these materials at the City/County Household Hazardous Waste Facility, located at 400 Pido Road, Peterborough.
