Township Announces Appointment of New CAO and Deputy CAO

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood has announced the appointment of Ed Whitmore as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Jordan Webb as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, effective August 1, 2026.

Mr. Whitmore will assume the role of CAO in addition to his current responsibilities as Chief Building Official, Planning Coordinator, and By-law Enforcement Officer. He brings more than 35 years of municipal experience, including over two decades in senior management, along with deep local knowledge and a strong commitment to public service.

Mr. Webb will assume the role of Deputy CAO in addition to his current role as Treasurer. In this expanded role, he will support municipal administration, organizational coordination, and operational alignment across departments.

Outgoing Interim CAO Mike Rutter will work closely with Mr. Whitmore in the coming weeks to support a smooth transition.

Council extends its congratulations to Mr. Whitmore and Mr. Webb on their appointments and looks forward to working with them in their expanded leadership roles. Council also expresses its sincere appreciation to outgoing Interim CAO Mike Rutter for his leadership, guidance, and steady support over the past year.
