County Rd 40 Closure for Sanitary Sewer Upgrades: October 19–November 30, 2026

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood advises that County Road 40, between Wellington Street and Albine Street, will be closed to complete sanitary sewer upgrades.

The closure is scheduled to begin on October 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and remain in effect until November 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Why this closure is needed

During the Stage 1 closure this summer, the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) labour dispute prevented the required work beneath the railway tracks from being completed. This additional closure is necessary to complete that work.

These circumstances were beyond the control of the Township and the contractor. We recognize the inconvenience of an additional closure and appreciate the community’s continued patience and understanding.

Detour route

Traffic will be detoured via Dummer/Asphodel Boundary Road, Asphodel 11th Line and Highway 7. Motorists are asked to follow posted detour signs and allow additional travel time.

Emergency access

There will be no emergency access through the closed section during the closure.
