Surface Treatment Notice – Asphodel 7th Line and Asphodel 8th Line

Surface treatment preparation work is scheduled to begin the week of June 22, 2026, weather permitting.

Surface treatment, commonly known as “tar and chip,” involves applying an emulsion to freshly spread gravel, followed by a layer of aggregate that is compacted into place. This project will include a double application of surface treatment.

The anticipated schedule is as follows:

• During the week of June 22, Asphodel 7th Line will be pulverized and graded.
• During the same week, limestone will be spread on Asphodel 8th Line.
• Once pulverized, Asphodel 7th Line will receive limestone aggregate the following week.
• Following fine grading, the double application of surface treatment is tentatively scheduled for the first week of July.

Road conditions may be rough and dusty during construction. Every effort will be made to control dust throughout the work.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane for much of the construction, with flagging operations in place. Please use caution around heavy trucks and equipment and obey traffic control personnel.

This work is weather dependent. Updates will be provided as needed.
