Election Accessibility

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is committed to ensuring that the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is accessible to all electors and candidates. The Township works to identify, remove, and prevent barriers to participation and to provide election services in a manner that respects independence, dignity, integration, and equal opportunity.

Accessibility Plan

The Township’s Election Accessibility Plan outlines the measures in place to support accessible voting and participation throughout the election process, including voting methods, accessible facilities, communication supports, and staff training.

Accessible Voting Options

Electors may vote using internet or telephone voting, allowing ballots to be cast independently and privately from a location of their choice. A Help Centre/Voting Location is also available at the Municipal Office for those who require in-person assistance or access to technology.

Candidates and Third Party Advertisers

Candidates and Registered Third Party Advertisers are encouraged to ensure their campaign activities and materials are accessible to all electors.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports

Election information is available in accessible formats and with communication supports upon request. The Township will work with individuals to determine the most appropriate format to meet their needs.
