Notice of Public Meeting – Zoning By-law Amendment Application ZBLA-01-2026
Take notice that the Corporation of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood hereby considers an application to amend Zoning By-Law 2009-08 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, as described below in the Purpose and Effect, to be a Complete Application in accordance with Section 34(10.7) of the Planning Act. The application has been assigned file number ZBLA-01-2026.
Location
A key map below indicates the location of lands to be re-zoned. The lands are at Plan 6, Part Lot 18 in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood and known municipally as 4243 Highway 7.
The purpose and effect of the Zoning By-Law Amendment is to re-zone the lands from the Commercial (C1) Zone to the Commercial Exception Ten Holding (C1-10 (H)) Zone. Once municipal sanitary capacity is available the Holding (H) provision may be removed then allowing an accessory dwelling unit located at the rear of and at the ground floor level of an existing commercial building.
Statutory Public Meeting Information
The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood will hold a Public Meeting under Section 34 of the Planning Act. You are invited to attend the Statutory Public Meeting to consider the proposed amendment. This meeting will take place on:

This public meeting allows for members of the public to attend the meeting and provide verbal and/or written submissions. We encourage you to communicate with Council by forwarding written comments in support of or opposition to the application to the Clerk.
Recorded meetings will posted on the Township YouTube channel as soon as possible after the meeting for public viewing.
The Right to Appeal
Any person may attend the public meeting and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendment.
If a specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If a specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
