Winter Parking Restrictions Now in Effect

Winter parking restrictions are now in effect in accordance with By-law No. 2017-05, as amended, and will remain in place until April 30.

These restrictions help ensure safe and efficient winter maintenance operations throughout the Township.

Peterborough County Roads – Overnight Parking

Please remember the following restrictions on Peterborough County roads:

• No overnight parking between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

• Vehicles may be ticketed or towed during these hours.

• The Parking Regulation By-law is in full effect and enforced by officers of Peterborough County and/or the City of Peterborough.

Do Not Place Snow or Ice on Roadways or Sidewalks

Under the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 181, it is an offence to deposit snow or ice on a roadway.

Shovelling or plowing snow onto roadways or sidewalks:

• Creates safety hazards for both motorists and pedestrians

• Impedes Township snow-clearing operations

• Can require Public Works crews to return to previously cleared areas, delaying overall road cleanup

Please do not shovel or plow snow onto roadways or sidewalks.
