Township of Asphodel-Norwood Lifts Burn Ban

Effective Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Township of Asphodel-Norwood has lifted the burn ban previously in place across the Township.

While the ban is rescinded, the Burn Hazard Index remains HIGH. Residents are reminded to use caution, follow all open-air burning regulations, and ensure they have a valid burn permit where required.

Burning Reminders:

• Recreational Fires – For cooking or warmth, up to 1m² in size. No permit required.

• Agricultural Fires – For rural or agricultural properties (minimum 5 acres). Brush or vegetation only, up to 3m (length/width) x 2m (height). Permit required.

• Special Occurrence Fires – Any fire that does not qualify as Recreational or Agricultural. Permit and site inspection required.
