Notice of Public Meeting – Zoning By-law Amendment Application ZBLA-03-2025

Take notice that the Corporation of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood hereby considers an application to amend Zoning By-Law 2009-08 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, as described below in the Purpose and Effect, to be a Complete Application in accordance with Section 34(10.7) of the Planning Act. The application has been assigned file number ZBLA-03-2025.

Location
A key map is included on the attached notice indicating the location of the lands to be re-zoned. The lands are at Concession 6, Lot 4 and Part Lot 3 in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood and known municipally as 1325 Asphodel 6th Line.

The purpose and effect of the Zoning By-Law Amendment is to re-zone the severed parcels from the Rural (RU) Zone to the Rural Residential (RR) Zone with a Source Water Protection Overlay. The rezoning is required as a condition of consent for Peterborough County Land Division files B-97-24 & B-98-24. The effect is to create two (2) rural residential lots.

Statutory Public Meeting Information
The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood will hold a Public Meeting under Section 34 of the Planning Act. You are invited to attend the Statutory Public Meeting to consider the proposed amendment. This meeting will take place on:

If you wish to participate in the electronic meeting in real time, please contact the Clerk by email at clerk@antownship.ca no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day prior to the scheduled meeting and you will be provided with an invitation to join the meeting using your computer or phone. Although possible for members of the public to “attend” a meeting electronically, and provide verbal submissions, we would encourage you to communicate with Council by forwarding written comments in support or opposition to the Clerk.
The Township is using Zoom for electronic meetings. Recorded meetings will posted on the Township YouTube channel as soon as possible after the meeting for public viewing.

The Right to Appeal
Any person may attend the public meeting and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendment.
If a specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If a specified person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
If you wish to be notified of the decision for any application, you must make a written request to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood at the address noted below and quote the appropriate file number, ZBLA-03-2025.
