The Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood appoints Council representatives and members of the community to various boards and committees. Council provides structure to each board and committee by approving a term of reference. If you would like to volunteer on a board or committee, please see our How to Volunteer page. Volunteers are vital to many events in the community, such as "Showcase Asphodel-Norwood" and "Trees and Twilight", that take place in the municipality.
Cemetery Board | ||
The Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery Board operates the cemetery owned by the Township located at 68 County Road 40, Norwood. The Funeral Burial and Cremation Services Act provides the basis for the Cemetery Board. The Cemetery Board meets in the months of April, June, and October. Cultural and Heritage Committee (ANCHC) | ||
The Asphodel-Norwood Cultural and Heritage Committee (ANCHC) provides leadership in ensuring that the history of the community and area is retained for future generations. The Cultural and Heritage Committee displays their extensive collection of artifacts, newspapers, genealogies, photographs, history, and records at the Asphodel-Norwood Heritage Centre located at 1818 Asphodel 3rd Line in the Hamlet of Westwood.

Library Board | ||
The Township of Asphodel-Norwood Library Board oversees both public library branches in the Township: the Norwood Library and Westwood Library. For more information regarding our libraries and their services, please visit the Asphodel-Norwood Public Library website.

Police Services Board | ||
The Township of Asphodel-Norwood Police Services Board is appointed with each term of Council. The Board consists of a Council representative, a provincial appointee, and a Council appointed member of the community. The Board's mandate is to manage the relationship between the Peterborough County - Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Township of Asphodel-Norwood. The Board meets quarterly with representatives of the Peterborough County OPP. For more information, please review the Police Services Board Terms of Reference.

Trails Committee | ||
The Township of Asphodel-Norwood Trails Committee provides protection to the water resources of the Mill Pond. The Committee's mandate is to return the Mill Pond area to a safe, clean park and waterway with walking trails. The Trails Committee spearheaded the opening of the Mill Pond Forest Trails located at 187 County Road 40 on July 1, 2017.
