The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is pleased to announce the appointment of Allan Hewitt as its new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)/Deputy Clerk/Deputy Treasurer. The inclusion of Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer ensures that appropriate skills are in place for key roles at the Township when required.
Mr. Hewitt comes to us with over 25 years of experience in the municipal, health and education sectors and most recently served as the CAO with the Town of Espanola. Prior to that, he was the CAO in the Town of Fogo Island in Newfoundland and held senior leadership positions while working as the Manager of Administration for the Health Department with the Municipality of Durham.
Mr. Hewitt will begin in his new role late February/early March 2024.
The Township is also delighted to advise that our new Treasurer will be Jordan Webb.
Mr. Webb joins us with a variety of financial services experience gained over the past 8+ years working in the health care sector. As a member of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) procurement and finance teams, Mr. Webb was responsible for the development and monitoring of the budget for the corporate services portfolio and was the finance lead for capital budget and procurement.
Mr. Webb looks forward to joining the Asphodel-Norwood team on January 29, 2024.
Finally, in recognition of her extensive skills and abilities, the Township is thrilled to announce the appointment of Melanie Hudson to the permanent role of Clerk for the Township.
Ms. Hudson has been with the Township since 2018 and is the current acting Clerk since the departure of our past CAO.
