All-Wheels Park (Community Centre Park) |

Based on feedback received during the public commenting period, the Township is excited to share this updated rendering of the NEW All-Wheels Park coming to the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre Park.
The design team was able to incorporate as much of the feedback received as possible including a concrete bowl (see element no. 14 above).
Construction commenced the week of September 26, 2022. Thanks to an extended autumn season, the contractor was able to complete approximately 75% of the concrete work. The remainder of the work, including landscaping and equipment installation will commence in the spring of 2023.

Alma Street Pedestrian Bridge Replacement |
Cultural & Heritage Report is completed and available (see below attachment).
Consultation with First Nations has begun and will continue over the next few months. Once the consultation period has concluded the design process can be finalized. Construction is expected in 2023.

Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre Expansion - Fitness Centre |

Construction has commenced and the project is moving forward on target.
The fitness centre is expected to open by end of Q1 2023. Once a grand opening date has been determined, it will be well communicated across the Township's various communication channels. Facility membership fees and rental costs TBD.
Please note: dates are approximate as construction and sourcing of building materials and finishing products have been affected by global supply chain issues.

Asphodel Park - New Playground Structure |
Public consultation completed with the children of our community choosing Option #2.

The structure has been ordered, but due to supply shortages is not expected to arrive until 2023.

Elm Street Sidewalk |
The tender for construction of the Elm Street Sidewalk was awarded to Drain Bros. Excavating Ltd. and is expected to be completed prior to November of 2022. This work will also include sidewalk panel replacements on Hwy No. 7 at the west end of the village. |
Landscaping - Town Hall & Norwood Library |
Topsoil has been spread at the Town Hall with grass seed planted. Shrubs and plants will be planted in Gail’s Garden to honour Gail Sawyer when the marker has been received.
Gail Sawyer was the Town Hall Caretaker for 41 years. (1978-2019)

Norwood Library Branch - New Front Door |
The new door has been ordered and is expected in late fall of 2022. |
Norwood Park - Shade Shelter |
Procurement process is expected to begin in August of 2022, with construction to commence in the fall (contingent on project being procured within budget).

Norwood & Westwood Cenotaph - New Flag Poles |

Planning for Outdoor Skating Rink |
Planning for the Outdoor Skating Rink is scheduled to commence in the fall of 2022. |
Surfacing of Asphodel 3rd Line (Hwy 7 to Centre Line) |
Tender to close on Monday July 18, 2022 for Council’s consideration at their regularly scheduled meeting of July 26, 2022.
Surfacing has been rescheduled to 2023.

Tree Replacement Program |
This program is ongoing with ten new maple trees being planted throughout the Township. |
Water Tower |
The Contribution Agreement from the Federal and Provincial governments will be executed by Council on July 26, 2022 thus securing the funding for this project.
The procurement process for engineering will be released in late July 2022 with the design-build tender expected to be released and awarded in the fall of 2022.
The construction of the new tower is expected to begin in the spring of 2023 with completion expected in the summer of 2023.

Watermain Replacement (Ridge Street) |
The replacement of the watermain and the reinstatement of Ridge Street (from Pine Street to the cul-de-sac) is expected to begin mid-July.
Ridge Street Reinstatement Update:
- Curbs and gutter will be installed September 6, 2022; and
- Asphalt pavement will be applied the week of September 12, 2022 (weather permitting).
Effected residents have been notified but are encouraged to contact the municipal office with any further questions/inquiries.
