The Beautification Committee was formed in 2008 and the Economic Development Advisory Committee was formed in 2013. The two committees merged in 2016 to form the newly appointed Economic Development and Beautification Advisory Committee (EDBAC).
This newly formed committee is an Advisory Committee consisting of volunteers and members of Council. The committee reports issues and policies to Council that may affect:
- Development
- Tourism
- Marketing
- Promoting our rich agricultural heritage
The goal of the EDBAC is to help strengthen our local economy with the resources we have available as well as to promote the beautification and revitalization of our Township.
Business Appreciation Night |
The Business Appreciation Night takes place annually in September, in partnership with the Peterborough & the Kawartha's Economic Development and the Township of Asphodel-Norwood. The event creates an opportunity for Township staff and Council to show their appreciation to local business owners; and for the local business owners to network, mingle, and build invaluable relationships. |
Business Highlights |
This program is currently on hold. Periodically, a local business will be highlighted on the Township’s social media channels to gain exposure |
Community Guide |
The Community Guide is an invaluable tool for residents and visitors to navigate the Township of Asphodel-Norwood. The guide provides municipal information, a business directory, organization and user group information, committee and board information and beautiful pictures that showcase the Township. |
Showcase Asphodel-Norwood |
This premiere business event happens annually in June and is brought to you by EDBAC, and graciously sponsored by the RBC Royal Bank Norwood Branch. View our Showcase Asphodel-Norwood page for more information. |
The Committee works hand and hand with the Peterborough & the Kawartha's Economic Development (PKED) as well as with Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA).
