Sweeping Notice: March 25, 2024

Please be advised that street sweeping will begin the week starting March 25, 2024 in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood.
All streets within the Village of Norwood will be completed by Marks Asphalt, the contractor that has been retained by the Township, to complete this work. This process will also involve the Townships Public Works team which will be sweeping all sidewalks within the village of Norwood and all surface treated roads within the Township, Westwood, Asphodel Heights, and Trentview...

A total solar eclipse is scheduled for April 8, 2024, stretching from Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
In Canada, the solar eclipse's path of totality will pass through some cities and towns in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland, plunging them into darkness for a few minutes. People outside the path of totality will be able to observe a partial solar eclipse, during which the Sun is not hidden in totality.

Community Garden Interest Count

The Township is considering the addition of a community garden in Asphodel-Norwood, and is currently seeking public input.
A community garden is a shared space where people can grow fruits, vegetables and flowers, either for themselves or for others in the community.
At this time, we are looking to gauge interest and gather information only.

By order of the Fire Chief, the current burn hazard index for the Township of Asphodel-Norwood has been set to High due to environmental factors.
As always, please exercise caution when burning and take precautions to prevent the spread of fire.
