The Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood announces the departure of our dedicated CAO/Clerk/Treasurer, Candice White as she has accepted a new position as the CAO for the Municipality of Port Hope.

Hydrant Flushing Notice - Fall 2023

This notice is regarding the Norwood Water System and the Trentview Estates Water System.
The Water & Wastewater Department will begin flushing hydrants the week of October 16, 2023 as part of their annual fall maintenance program.

Development Charges Update

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is updating its Development Charges By-law under the authority of the Development Charges Act, 1997. The Township’s current By-law will expire December 31, 2023.
A Development Charges Background Study must be completed, and a new By-law adopted for development charge collection to continue beyond this date. To this end, a public meeting will be held November 14, 2023.
Notice of Road Closure · Asphodel 6th Line October 16-27, 2023

Please be advised that Asphodel 6th Line (from County Road 2 to River Road) will be CLOSED between October 16-27, 2023* for the purpose of removing and replacing an existing culvert.
Detour signs will be posted prior to construction; but properties located between 1325 Asphodel 6th Line and County Road 2 will have access from County Road 2, and properties located between River Road and 1234 Asphodel 6th Line will have access from River Road.

2023 Scarecrow Roadshow Contest Winner

Congratulations to Christi M., winner of the 2023 Scarecrow Roadshow contest!
Christi won a local Halloween Bundle which consists of:
- A set of three carved pumpkins created by Mel’s Custom Creations;
- A pumpkin carving kit from Norwood Home Hardware, and;
- A $25 Gift Certificate from Sweetheart’s Bakery & Deadman’s Brew.
