Please note the following updates for the Victoria Day long weekend:
Municipal Office Closure – Victoria Day
The Municipal Office will be closed on Monday, May 19, 2025, in observance of Victoria Day.
Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 20 at 8:30 a.m.
Curbside Recycling & Garbage Collection
There will be no changes to curbside garbage and recycling collection. Leaf & Yard waste collection will also continue as usual.

Open: Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Dust Control Update: Calcium Chloride Application

The Public Works crew have begun applying Calcium Chloride on gravel roads throughout the Township of Asphodel-Norwood for dust control.
What to Expect:
Each year, approximately 12 tanker loads of Calcium Chloride are applied to help reduce dust on our roads. This process generally takes 4-6 weeks.
Meeting the Calcium Chloride Truck:
If you encounter the tanker on the road, please be patient. The truck typically travels at a speed of 15 km/h while spraying. The driver will pull over when it's safe...

Hydrant Flushing Notice - Spring 2025

This notice is regarding the Norwood Water System and the Trentview Estates Water System.
The Water & Wastewater Department will begin flushing hydrants the week of May 12-16, 2025 as part of their spring maintenance program.

Emergency Railway Repairs Completed – County Road 40 Reopened

Canadian Pacific Railway has completed emergency repairs to the railway track located on County Road 40, between Wellington Street and Helen Street. As a result, County Road 40 has been reopened to all traffic.
